biography of artist tiffany durling

I originally worked in illustration and then qualified as an Art Teacher in my twenties. It wasn't until I took a career break to bring up my children in my home county of Kent, that I suddenly found time to really enjoy painting again.

I have always loved photographing weathered wood, twisted tree roots, rusted metal posts and rockpool formations found particularly on the coast. It is these elements of nature that particularly inspire my art.

I now enjoy painting in a semi abstract way, interpreting the lines and organic forms found in nature. I allow the painting to evolve on the canvas.
